Crate and Barrel's Ultimate Wedding Contest

Our love story.

We both knew that we had been struck the moment that we laid eyes on each other in the summer of 2006 but we couldn't seem to get the timing right until exactly 2 years later, when the stars at long last aligned and I asked Rachel to join me to see Feist in concert at the outdoor venue Ravinia. For the record, "The Reminder" will always be a shared favorite album, as we have Feist to thank for setting the scene for a most perfect, long awaited first date.

Three important details about our Ultimate Wedding.

The ideal ceremony will be outdoors with a chic and intimate after party. Mediterranean finger foods is number one on our wish list to implement one of our favorite types of food that's simple for all of our guests to eat. We'd like the reception to be a cocktail party setting with music selected primarily by us but with a D.J. to coordinate it all. The days garments are of the utmost import, a haute yet functional dress for Emily and a Prada suit for Rachel- this detail is non-negotiable!

Our everyday dream day.

Sharing coffee and breakfast is our favorite way to begin the day with one another. In our dream world, that would be followed up with a ferry ride to Olympic National Forest and enjoying the drive around the peninsula, stopping at a diner for lunch and walking around the forests and coast line together. Ending the day with a beer at a quiet brew pub once we were back home in Seattle would be the perfect night cap.
